Foreign Founders Meetup: Soft skills & resilience for foreign founders
Neljapäev, 12. märts kell 17:30 - 21:00
Pipedrive, Tallinn
Hey, foreign founder – this event series is for you!
Building a startup is demanding and doing it in a foreign country adds an extra layer of complexity. Estonia offers a strong, digital-first startup ecosystem, but adapting to a new cultural environment, leadership expectations, and personal pressure can take its toll.
Meetup vol. 6 focuses on soft skills and mental resilience—critical foundations for long-term leadership and entrepreneurship. While technical and business skills matter, sustainable founder journeys are built on self-awareness, stress management, and the ability to adapt and lead under pressure. This session aims to support foreign founders in preventing burnout and developing a more conscious leadership style in the Estonian context.
Here’s what we’ve planned
📘 Workshop: Burnout prevention & leading as a foreigner
A practical session focused on stress management, work–life balance, and leading teams while navigating a new cultural environment.
Led by Almog Koren, Founder & CEO of DogBase.
Almog is a foreign founder building his company in Estonia, with 15+ years of experience in technology and multiple funded startups behind him. A former Special Forces operator and Search & Rescue K9 handler, he brings a practical, no-fluff perspective on resilience, founder burnout, and high-performance leadership. His session focuses on how to scale ambitious companies without sacrificing health, clarity, or long-term capacity.
🎤 Panel Discussion
A practical and experience-driven conversation on mental resilience, leadership under pressure, and cultural adaptation featuring:
Helina Harro, Mental Health Lead at Siffi and licensed psychologist with over 18 years of clinical experience. Helina has counselled employees, team leads, and founders on stress, burnout, and workplace wellbeing, combining deep psychological expertise with real-world organisational insight.
Liina Adov, psychologist, coach, and DEBI Lead at Pipedrive. With a PhD in Educational Psychology and a background in cognitive-behavioural approaches, she has coached 200+ colleagues, helping individuals build clarity, confidence, and practical tools for managing stress and improving collaboration.
