The FinEst Twins is building the first global cross-border Smart City Centre of Excellence- Helsinki, Finland & Tallinn, Estonia as twin smart cities.

This initiative is supported by the European Commission (H2020 European Union funding for Research & Innovation grant 856602 and ERDF grant 2014-2020.4.01.20-0289) and the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research.

A great opportunity to hear more about the smart city pilot projects that started their journey from January and should have their solutions piloted by May 2023.

10:00 am - 3 min elevator pitches about pilot projects: DigiAudit, Future Transport, GreenTwins, Microgrids and Energy Storage.

10:15 am - Research component and cooperation opportunities
‣ Which of the research questions have the pilot projects started to explore? What have they discovered so far? What makes these questions specially challenging?
‣ How can other researchers, doctoral students cooperate with your pilot project?
‣ Questions from the audience

11:00 am - Piloting component and cooperation opportunities
‣ What are the pilot projects in practical terms developing based on the research outputs?
‣ How the developed solution gets piloted in the partner cities / local-authorities? And what have you already done to prepare for that?
‣ What is your future offer for other cities?
