Baltic Divide Race no.1
Laupäev, 18. juuli kell 09:00 - Esmaspäev, 20. juuli kell 09:00
Purekkari cape, Harju maakond, Eesti, Viinistu
North to South. One Line. 48 Hours.
In 1989, nearly two million people joined hands across Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to form the Baltic Chain — a human chain linking three nations in a single, shared direction.
Baltic Divide follows that north–south axis — this time on bicycles.
The route begins at the northernmost point of the Baltic States and runs south across three countries to the southernmost point of Lithuania. Riders pass 12 Chain Points (CPs), moving through forests, farmland, small towns and historic borderlands shaped by resilience and independence.
Participants can choose between three distances:
• 377 km
• 577 km
• 777 km
All riders have 48 hours to complete their chosen route and reach the finish — in time to catch the bus that follows the line back north.
No rider is left on the road after the cut-off.
If you wish, you ride south — and return together.

Race Format
Baltic Divide is a self-supported ultra-adventure cycling event.
There are:
No support cars
No private outside assistance
No personal crews
Although...
Riders may ride together, share the road and support one another. Commercially available services (bike shops, cafés, hotels, public transport, mechanical services) are permitted to all participants equally.
Navigation, food, pacing, sleep and problem-solving are your responsibility. The route takes place on open public roads and gravel tracks across three countries. Riders must arrive physically prepared, properly equipped and capable of independent decision-making.
Scratching & transport options
Along the route there are multiple towns and cities connected by public transportation. Riders who choose to scratch need to independently arrange return travel by bus or train from various points along the course.
For those reaching the southernmost finish in Lithuania, there is the option to take a train to Vilnius, from where onward travel by bus, train or plane is easily accessible.
Additionally, the official event bus follows a similar northbound corridor after the finish and offers transport back to the start for registered riders who selected the bus package.
