On 26 September at 17:00, we invite Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine in Riga to Forum Cinemas for a screening of the new documentary “Kuzma: Terribly Funny” — the remarkable story of Andriy Kuzmenko, leader of the band Skryabin, loved by millions but truly known by very few.
💙💛 This will be the film’s first screening in Latvia, and we are incredibly happy that after Lithuania and Estonia, “Kuzma” is continuing its journey across the Baltic States!
And this journey already has a very special story.

➡️ “Kuzma: Terribly Funny” is a biographical documentary tracing Andriy Kuzmenko’s journey — from a young man from Novoyavorivsk and his first musical experiments to becoming one of Ukraine’s most recognisable and beloved artists.
The film was released in cinemas across Ukraine on 13 August and achieved an impressive result in its first days: together with special screenings, it attracted more than 53,000 viewers and generated over UAH 11 million at the box office.
🎬 To create the film, the KNIFE! Films team worked through more than 400 hours of video and audio material, over 22,000 photographs, and spoke with more than 100 people.
Most of this archival material had never been made public before.
That is why this is not a conventional documentary in which others tell the story of its protagonist. Here, Kuzma essentially tells his own story.
We see him young and wild, in love with music, funny and serious, successful and uncertain — in everyday life, on stage, with friends, and at moments of profound change.
💙💛 And today, many of Kuzma’s words resonate more powerfully than ever.
After Russia’s aggression against Ukraine began in 2014, he openly condemned Russia, supported Ukrainian soldiers, spoke about the dangers of indifference, and stressed that when your country is at war, remaining neutral is impossible.
He spoke about the importance of protecting what is ours — the Ukrainian language, music, culture, and the right to determine our own future.
And today, as Ukraine fights for its freedom, its identity, and for the right of the Ukrainian voice to be heard around the world, Kuzma’s words carry particular strength.
