Radio Night University lecture: Religiousness in Estonian Art

Saturday 8. November at 15:00 - 16:30

Arvo Pärt Centre, Laulasmaa

Performer
Eero Epner

Description
Eero Epner, Estonian art historian and playwright, introduces the lecture as follows:

“Although religious motifs may not appear particularly prevalent in Estonian art at first glance, they often emerge in unexpected contexts: a construction site may be depicted as an icon, the sky as an apocalypse, or a still life may conceal a profound religious principle. This lecture will present several fragments illustrating the ways in which Estonian artists of the 20th century have conveyed religious motifs, atmospheres, and images.”

The lecture will be in Estonian.

Everyone is welcome.
