LUX AETERNA: Ancient Chants of the East and West
The ARTOS Byzantine Choir of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Vilnius will bring again to St. Aleksander Church the two most influential vocal traditions in history: the Byzantine and the Gregorian.
In the heart of Warsaw, liturgical hymns that for centuries filled the great basilicas of Constantinople and the monasteries of Rome will resonate once more. In this program, ARTOS explores famous and deeply spiritual chorals that represent the peak of medieval musical artistry, exploring a language that has transcended time and borders for over a millennium.
Beyond the historical, this music possesses a genuine magic. In the purity of the human voice and the ancient melodies, the listener finds a rare sense of inner peace, profound calm, and spiritual clarity.
Join us for a transformative evening where the ancient traditions of Europe meet in harmony. Discover the enduring beauty of the Lux Aeterna.
