Screening and discussion of the Documentary Film “Prisoners. The System of Terror”
Thursday 7. May at 17:00 - 19:00
Narva Muuseum
On 7 May at 17:00, as part of the Europe Day programme at Narva Castle, a screening and discussion of the documentary film “Prisoners. The System of Terror” by the media project Activatica will take place.
The film tells the story of the system of terror created by Russia in the occupied territories of Ukraine: what happens to a person after abduction, what trials they go through, and whether there is any chance of returning to freedom. Testimonies of beatings, torture, total isolation, and unlawful detention without trial reveal the scale and mechanisms of this repressive machine rooted in the Soviet past.
After the screening, a discussion with well-known Russian environmental and civic activist Yevgenia Chirikova will take place, where she will answer questions from the audience. The discussion will be moderated by Narva Museum Management Board Member and European of the Year 2025, Maria Smorževskihh-Smirnova (PhD).
The film will be shown in Russian and Ukrainian with English subtitles.
Duration of the event: 1.5 hours.
Free admission with prior registration.
