Freedom and Dictatorship in the Modern World

Tamara Natanovna Eidelman, a historian, lecturer, writer, teacher, and author of a popular YouTube channel with an audience of over 1.5 million subscribers, will give a historical lecture titled "Freedom and Dictatorship in the Modern World" on March 9 at 7:00 PM in Los Angeles.

Do you remember the celebration that swept the world when the Berlin Wall fell? So much happiness, so much joy, so much hope! The Iron Curtain was crumbling, the Cold War was over, and we were going to live in a new, free world…

More than three decades have passed — where are our dreams and hopes now? There are more dictators in the world, and less freedom. Bloody wars, unexpected and frightening election results in the most seemingly free and peaceful countries, corruption eating away at both dictatorships and democracies.

Where are we headed? How can we resist this?

I don’t have a single, exact answer to these questions. There are examples from history, and there are new and growing questions. Those are the ones I’d like to discuss with my audience.

Let’s search for a solution together…

The lecture will be held in Russian. After the lecture, attendees will have the opportunity to ask Tamara Natanovna questions, take photos with her.

The lecture will take on March 7 at 7:00 PM in the Fine Arts Theatre, Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills.

The doors will open at 6:30 PM.
