Inspired by a 1975 American touring production of Thornton Wilder's classic drama "Our Town," visionary director Dmitry Krymov masterfully superimposes Wilder's theatrical narrative onto Krymov’s own past, featuring a stage avatar of the director who guides the audience through a tragicomic dreamscape where reality, illusion, and memories constantly collide. The play unfolds as a heartfelt tribute to the golden ghosts of Soviet theatre, bringing long-dead loved ones and legendary colleagues to life on a shaky platform over an imaginary abyss, leaving viewers with a bittersweet awareness of the fleeting value of their own lives.
