About Yugeneration & Op Wandel

Yugeneration is the non-profit project of Yugen. For every bottle or can sold, 2 cents go to the foundation — bringing people back to nature and helping to restore it.

The name says it all: YUGENeration. Yugen is a Japanese concept — the sense of wonder you feel for the beauty of nature. That feeling lives in every can, every bottle.

This spring, we are organizing a series of free activities, including nature hikes.

That’s why we’re joining forces with Dorien Draps from Op Wandel for accessible walks with like-minded people. We head outdoors together to clear our minds and simply step away from screens and daily busyness.

What are Yugen Walks?

The Yugen Walk is a guided walk for people who feel the need to catch their breath in nature. No pressure to perform: just walking with like-minded nature lovers. It’s not therapy and not a workshop. It’s simple: being outside, moving your body and meeting people who feel the same need.

  • A half day away from screens and constant stimuli

  • Clearing your mind and getting your body moving

  • Meeting like-minded people and creating real connection

  • Enjoying the calm of the outdoors

"Op Wandel is a starting point and meeting place for walkers and hikers. It offers information, inspiration and a community of outdoor people and adventurous souls who prefer a slower and more mindful pace."

What can you expect?

During this session, we head into nature together for a walk of 8 to 10 km.

We walk at a comfortable pace and take the time to enjoy the surroundings. This is not a спортивe challenge, but a relaxed and enjoyable walk.

You can expect:

  • A mapped-out route of approximately 3 hours (including a break)

  • Time and space to simply be (instead of always being “on”)

  • Easy, natural conversations with like-minded people

  • Fresh air, movement and a calmer mind afterwards

We close with a relaxed Yugen moment to connect and unwind together.

About our partner Op Wandel

Op Wandel is an initiative that brings people together through accessible and connecting walking experiences in nature. With their community hikes, they create space to slow down, move and meet new people in a relaxed and informal setting.

The focus is not on performance, but on experience: being on the move, letting conversations arise naturally and simply enjoying the surroundings. With distances that are achievable for everyone, they make walking accessible and connecting again.

Op Wandel believes in the power of being outdoors together — where nature, movement and human connection strengthen each other.

Participation & Access

🎟 Ticket price: Free*

At Yugeneration, we aim to reconnect as many people as possible with nature. That’s why our events are completely free* and open to all ages.

To avoid overwhelming nature, we work with a limited number of spots per activity. Registration is therefore required.

*To avoid no-shows, we ask for a reservation fee. This will be fully refunded after your attendance. This allows us to distribute spots fairly and ensure that those who register actually participate.

Yugeneration is intended for individuals (no group or corporate registrations). Each person can participate in a maximum of 1 session per season; additional registrations may be cancelled. More details can be found in the FAQ.

FAQ

Do I need to register for the event?
Yes. As we work with a limited number of spots per activity, registration is required. This helps us ensure a pleasant experience for everyone and respect for nature.

Why do I need to pay a reservation fee if the event is free?
Our events are completely free because we want to reconnect as many people as possible with nature. To avoid no-shows, we ask for a small reservation fee. This will be fully refunded after your attendance.

What ages are the events suitable for?
Our events are open to all ages, unless stated otherwise on the event page.

What if I can no longer attend?
If you can no longer participate, please unsubscribe in time and notify us via email: [email protected] so someone else can take your spot. If you do not show up without notice, your reservation fee will be donated to Yugeneration.

What should I bring?
This may vary per activity. Practical information such as clothing, materials or preparation will be shared on the event page. For additional questions, you can contact: [email protected]

Where exactly does the event take place?
The exact location and practical details are usually shared after registration or a few days before the event. For additional questions, contact: [email protected]

Will the activity take place in bad weather?
Yes. Weather conditions are part of the nature experience, so rain alone is not a reason to cancel. We ask participants to dress accordingly. Only in case of storm or severe weather will the activity be cancelled for safety reasons.

What happens if an activity is cancelled?
The organization closely monitors weather conditions and communicates any cancellation at least 24 hours in advance. In that case, we usually offer a “rain check” and reschedule the session.

Can I participate in multiple sessions?
Yugeneration is designed for individuals who want to recharge in nature. To ensure fair access for everyone, the following rules apply:

  • Participation is exclusively for individuals (no corporate events, team buildings or group registrations). If you wish to participate as a company, organization or group, please contact the activity organizer directly for a tailored experience

  • Maximum of 1 session per person per season. Duplicate registrations (checked via email and phone number) may be cancelled to give as many people as possible the opportunity to participate
