About Yugeneration & Outdoorschool
Ignite your inner fire and reconnect with nature.
Yugeneration is the non-profit project of Yugen. For every bottle or can sold, 2 cents go to the foundation — bringing people back to nature and helping to restore it.
The name says it all: YUGENeration. Yugen is a Japanese concept — the sense of wonder you feel for the beauty of nature. That feeling lives in every can, every bottle.
This spring, we are organizing a series of free activities, including bushcraft.
That’s why we’re joining forces with The Outdoorschool for a bushcraft and nature experience day. A day to slow down, reconnect with nature and your inner fire. We will literally light our own fire, cook on it, and discover and taste wild plants.
What is Bushcraft?
Bushcraft literally translates to “forest craft” — the art of living in the woods using what nature provides and as few materials as possible. It’s about understanding and working with the elements of nature.
During this experience day, you will learn how to make fire in a sustainable way, how to cook on a fire without pots and pans, and which plants can be used for food or medicinal purposes.
But for us, it goes beyond bushcraft alone.
It’s also about:
Slowing down and reconnecting with nature around us — and within ourselves
The more people love nature, the more they will care for it
Creating an experience that continues to resonate and inspires you to spend more time outdoors
Sharing this experience with a tribe — a group of like-minded people to connect with
That is what The Outdoorschool stands for.
What can you expect?
During this day in Bosland, Hechtel-Eksel, the instructors from The Outdoorschool will guide you through this immersive nature experience.
You will discover, among other things:
How to make fire using a firesteel and natural materials
How to cook on an open fire and in hot coals
Which edible wild plants grow around us and how to use them
The effect of nature on your nervous system
We close the day with a Yugen Kombucha with a wild foraged twist.
About our partner Outdoorschool
The Outdoorschool is a Belgian organization that reconnects people with nature through adventure, experience and practical outdoor skills. For over 25 years, their team has inspired participants not only to explore nature, but to truly experience it.
With a strong focus on bushcraft, survival, nature immersion and primitive skills, The Outdoorschool offers a wide range of courses, workshops and multi-day programs for both beginners and advanced participants. From fire-making and shelter building to mountain hiking and navigation, participants learn essential skills to move confidently and consciously in nature.
The organization believes that a deeper connection with nature contributes to a more balanced and mindful life. By bringing people outdoors and encouraging learning by doing, The Outdoorschool aims not only to share knowledge but to create a lasting shift in mindset.

Participation & Access

At Yugeneration, we aim to reconnect as many people as possible with nature. That’s why our events are completely free* and open to all ages.
To avoid overwhelming nature, we work with a limited number of spots per activity. Registration is therefore required.
*To avoid no-shows, we ask for a reservation fee. This will be fully refunded after your attendance. This allows us to distribute spots fairly and ensure that those who register actually participate.
Yugeneration is intended for individuals (no group or corporate registrations). Each person can participate in a maximum of 1 session per season; additional registrations may be cancelled. More details can be found in the FAQ.
FAQ
Do I need to register for the event?
Yes. As we work with a limited number of spots per activity, registration is required. This helps us ensure a pleasant experience for everyone and respect for nature.
Why do I need to pay a reservation fee if the event is free?
Our events are completely free because we want to reconnect as many people as possible with nature. To avoid no-shows, we ask for a small reservation fee. This will be fully refunded after your attendance.
What ages are the events suitable for?
Our events are open to all ages, unless stated otherwise on the event page.
What if I can no longer attend?
If you can no longer participate, please unsubscribe in time and notify us via email: [email protected] so someone else can take your spot. If you do not show up without notice, your reservation fee will be donated to Yugeneration.
What should I bring?
This may vary per activity. Practical information such as clothing, materials or preparation will be shared on the event page. For additional questions, you can contact: [email protected]
What happens in case of bad weather?
Most activities continue in light rain, so appropriate clothing is recommended. If an event must exceptionally be rescheduled or cancelled, all participants will be informed in time.
Where exactly does the event take place?
The exact location and practical details are usually shared after registration or a few days before the event. For additional questions, contact: [email protected]
Will the activity take place in bad weather?
Yes. Weather conditions are part of the nature experience, so rain alone is not a reason to cancel. We ask participants to dress accordingly. Only in case of storm or severe weather will the activity be cancelled for safety reasons.
What happens if an activity is cancelled?
The organization closely monitors weather conditions and communicates any cancellation at least 24 hours in advance. In that case, we usually offer a “rain check” and reschedule the session.
