Public Showing: Forget Diplomacy

The showing of the exploratory residency—the first phase of the Italian-Estonian co-production “Forget Diplomacy”

During their 2.5-week residency, Italian performing artist Irene Russolillo and electronic music producer Edoardo Sansonne/Kawabate have visited various cultural and memory institutions in Tartu, Tallinn, and Narva to explore Estonian heritage culture and vocal traditions. Through a parallel open call, the creators met with vocalists and instrumentalists to select two performers from Estonia to contribute to the production’s soundscape, both during the rehearsal process and performances.

At the public showing, author and director Irene Russolillo will present the co-production—set to premiere in June in Rome and arrive in Estonia during the 2027/2028 season—alongside her creative methods and the outcomes of the residency in Estonia. Together with Edoardo Sansonne/Kawabate, she will also introduce the Estonian artists selected for the project. The showing will feature a performative segment.

The production joined the repertoire through the 2026/2027 open call and is being created in collaboration with ORBITA|Spellbound (ITA), Tartu New Theatre (EE), and IRA Institute/Oscenica (ITA). The production is currently in the research phase.
