Friday 27. March at 19:30 - 21:30

Liberty Books Lisbon, Lisboa

Arian Mortazavi Sarrafan is a music artist and ancient culture researcher devoted to making and discovering music that connects deeply to the heart, and brings us home to ourselves.

As a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Arian has spent the past 5 years deep diving into the musical heritage of his ancestry - Iran and the Iranic cultures - immersing himself through extensive travel, learning regional songs and repertoires, and gaining proficiency in eastern instruments like the Kamancheh, Setar, Dotar, Ney, Duduk & Balaban and more.

For this event, Arian will take us on a deeper exploration of the Kamancheh. Originally from ancient Iran, and known as the oldest bowed lute we’ve discovered, the Kamancheh, with it’s walnut body, skin soundboard and horsehair bow, is played in Iran, Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Armenia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Georgia, and Uzbeksitan.

This delightful instrument produces a great range of beautifully expressive sounds that stir the soul and, in essence, connect us with divine beauty.

The price includes tea and sweets.
