¡ZAMBOMBA!- Spanish Christmas Celebration
Thursday 4. December at 18:00 - Friday 5. December at 21:00
Academia de Música y Teatro de Estonia, Tallinn
🌟Ingrid Mugu, Nordic flamenco artists, and the Traditional Music Department of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre invite everyone to Zambomba!🌟
🎄Zambomba is a joyful Christmas celebration where villancicos (Spanish Christmas carols) blend with flamenco, and everyone is welcome to join in! You’ll also get to see and hear the special zambomba instrument, which gives the event its name.
During the first week of December, we’ll host an Andalusian Christmas songs workshop and a public Zambomba – a concert-style Christmas party!
In the workshops, we’ll learn some of the most popular villancicos (Andalusian Christmas songs), as well as how to accompany them with palmas (handclaps) or typical percussion instruments.
Musicians are welcomed to bring their own instruments to the Zambomba workshop.
🤶🎅 These fun workshops are open to absolutely everyone interested in Andalusian Christmas traditions and festivities – no prior experience needed!
The workshops will be led by Nordic flamenco artists Irene Pelayo Lind, Olle Pelayo Lind and Pia del Norte. The trio has many years of experience organizing Zambomba events in Sweden.
💃 On the evening of December 5, we’ll come together for the real Zambomba celebration, where we can perform the songs we’ve learned, dance, and raise our glasses together in true Andalusian style! 🎉
