Northern Flamenco Network, Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and Ingrid Mugu invite everyone to the first get-together and Zambomba of Tallinn!

Zambomba is a form of celebrating Christmas with villancicos, Spanish Christmas songs, combined with loads of flamenco feeling, as well as familiar openness in the expression where both musicians and dancers can join in on common grounds. Perhaps you'll even get to see and hear a zambomba, the instrument that gives the evening its name...!

On the first weekend of December we will: have an Andalusian Christmas songs and music (Zambomba) workshop, meet with northern flamenco artists, get to know the local flamenco and folk music community, aim to bring together anyone interested in Andalusian Christmas traditions and celebrations! Anyone is welcome to join this happy celebration!

You will learn some of the most popular villancicos and how to accompany them with palmas (handclaps) and some typical percussive instruments or, if you want, a few typical dance steps! Musicians are welcome to the Zambomba workshop with their own instruments!

The workshop will be held by two fantastic musicians Irene Pelayo Lind and Olle Pelayo Lind who, together with flamenco dancer Pia Pohjakallio, have a long history of organizing Zambombas in Sweden!
