Description
The Arvo Pärt Centre’s new event series, “Listening in”, continues focusing on consciously listening to a musical composition. How to notice, make sense of and interrelate musical processes? On what, how and when to pay attention to when listening to a piece of music? We invite you to listen and hear the sounds that are born in the music, the texts and contexts, the density and the sparseness, the speed and the slowness, the abundance and smoothness.

Listening to music together is possible with the knowledge and experience of a music professional, and the listener’s expanded attention and increased sensitivity to sounds. The aim of the new series is to bring together professionals and music lovers, to listen, feel and share their listening experience together.
On March 5, Professor Toomas Siitan from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater will reflect on the music of the period of suffering and the traditions of liturgical music.
