Workshop: Music and dance

How do music, different rhythms and pulses affect movement and dance? How do personal, internal rhythms move and shape movement and different movement qualities? What is it like to dance to music without rhythm? In the workshop we will focus on different tasks that open up the relationship between dance and music, and explore each one’s own preferences and rhythmic movement habits. By opening them up one can find new pathways of dancing to music.

In the workshop we´ll also briefly visit material from the performance Spaceparticles and Terry Riley's composition In C. The workshop is open to anyone interested in the relationship between music and dance. No previous dance experience is required.
