ESTO 2019: Workshop "Find Your Roots" and excursion in the National Archive (in English)

With the help of Tõnis Türn and Birgit Kibal, family history buffs will gain a clearer picture of how to seek and find information on their Estonian forefathers. During the workshop, participants will learn simple methods for doing research independently and online to find information on one's ancestors.

The workshop will provide answers to the questions: Where do I start when researching my family history? What are the primary research sources and how do I use them? Practical examples will be given using the National Archive's digitized collection of records Saaga.

Depending on the language skills of those interested, two simultaneous workshops will be arranged, one in Estonian and one in English.
The workshop will last 1.5 hours, followed by an excursion through the archive building that will also last 1.5 hours.
