Special screening of the film «Where Are You, Adam?» Q&A with producer
Thursday 8. May at 19:00 - 21:00
Liberty: food, coffee & wine, Parede
The film «Where Are You, Adam?» offers a profound immersion into the life of an Orthodox monastery on Mount Athos. Filmed at the Dochiariou Monastery during the lifetime and with the blessing of Archimandrite Gregory (Zumis), it is not merely a documentary observation but a subtle and tender portrayal of monastic daily life – of prayer, labor, trials, and self-denial. Free from noise and distraction, the viewer is drawn into a world where time flows by different laws, and the most important questions turn inward: «Where is my heart? Where am I now?»
What makes the film truly unique is its complete authenticity: there are no staged scenes, scripted lines, or voiceover narration. The narrative unfolded naturally, like a mosaic of real life imbued with genuine spiritual depth. The filmmakers avoid imposing interpretations or judgments, instead offering each viewer the freedom to perceive and experience according to their own beliefs – whether religious, cultural, or otherwise.
This special screening offers more than just a viewing – it invites you to live the experience. The film's atmosphere quietly draws the viewer into the inner world of the monastery, transforming passive observation into a shared journey. As moments of silence, struggle, and insight unfold on screen, the audience becomes a part of them. This is not a film that explains – it allows you to feel, to reflect, and perhaps to find your own answers to life’s most profound questions.
«Where Are You, Adam?» has been successfully featured at prestigious international film festivals, including the Krakow Film Festival and the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, and has received Grand Prix honors at several Christian and cultural cinema forums.
Originally filmed in Greek and translated into 22 languages, the film will be screened with Portuguese and English subtitles.
The film will be personally presented by producer Oleksandr Plyska.
