Vasilii Zorkii: A Brief History of Hip-Hop

Friday 26. June at 19:00 - 21:00

Arc Space London

On June 26, as part of Konstantin Benkovich’s exhibition Fight the Power, Arc’s Creative Director and former Creative Director of the Afisha Picnic festival, Vasilii Zorkii, will give a lecture titled Hip-Hop: A Brief History — in ten tracks, five samples, and six videos.

During the lecture, Vasilii will explore how hip-hop emerged and evolved, how this culture functions today, why rap concerts rarely become truly outstanding musical events, and where recitation ends and genuine poetry begins.
