Valga Hot Shorts, or VHS, is a short film festival taking place for the second time at the Valga Cultural Centre. Its program focuses on the paradoxes of adapting to a rapidly changing world. From July 18–20, the town of Valga will be filled with film enthusiasts and top short films from Estonia, Latvia, and beyond. In addition to the main program, the festival offers a wide range of special screenings and events throughout the town of Valga.
The VHS main program consists of five "cassettes," each approaching the festival’s core theme—the paradoxes of adaptation—from different angles. We explore what it takes to adapt in a fast-paced world and map out possible paths for reconciliation between nature and humanity.
