Yorgos Lanthimos | Greece | 2009 | English with subtitles
Hot on the heels of this year's BUGONIA (coming soon), we're pleased to present Yorgos Lanthimos' breakout hit DOGTOOTH.
Lanthimos introduces his singular style with this unnerving study of control and isolation. A couple raise their children inside a walled home, feeding them lies about the outside world and teaching them rules that have no link to reality. The result is both darkly funny and deeply disturbing.
DOGTOOTH examines how language shapes belief and how authority warps identity. Its stark framing and deadpan tone highlight the madness beneath the surface. The film became a major turning point for Greek cinema and launched Lanthimos onto the world stage.
Location: FOMO Secret Cinema, Bazari Orbeliani, Tbilisi. A five-minute walk from Liberty Square metro.
How to find FOMO: Enter the Bazari via Atoneli St, above Carrefour, and take the stairs immediately on your left behind the jewellery stand. The cinema entrance is one flight up in the stairwell.
