Tour of Peter the Great's House during the Heritage Days 2025
Saturday 13. September at 12:00 - 13:00
Peter the Great House Museum, Tallinn
This year, the focus of the European Heritage Days is architecture. The three-day festival is titled "A Window to the Past, a Door to the Future."
During the Heritage Days, a thematic tour will be held at the House of Peter the Great, showcasing the exhibition of one of Tallinn's oldest museums.
The House of Peter the Great was opened to visitors in 1806. The tour will present the key stages in the museum's development, the early efforts to preserve its historical interiors and artifacts, and the changes the building has undergone over the past two centuries. Particular attention will be paid to the renovations of summer 1935, when the house was restored, the furniture refurbished, and the exhibition expanded with new works of art.
The tour will also highlight notable visitors to the house over the years — in addition to local residents and tourists, various official delegations and state guests have visited Peter’s House as part of diplomatic and political visits.
The experience concludes in the attic of the museum, where guests are invited to share their own memories of Peter’s House and the Kadriorg area in a relaxed atmosphere — over a cup of tea.
Participation requires a museum ticket or museum card. Pre-registration is required. The number of participants is limited to 10.
