Masterclass: Rope-weaving from Local Plants with Riina Õun
@ Mehaanikatsehh / Café Area
The workshop will take place on Tuesday at 16–18.
For free!
In this specific site, plants intertwine with natural fabrics reflecting local heritage. An inclusive masterclass engages local community, teaching participants to make ropes from indigenous plants using technique of intertwining separated plant fibers.
These ropes are woven into a decorative belt inspired by the Estonian “kirivöö,” symbolically uniting the different cultures of people and nature coexisting at the location. Through this collaborative process, participants contemplate their lineage and the richness of cultural heritage to foster a deeper connection with the environment.
Guided by: Riina Õun
