Songs of love and nature from the Renaissance to the present day. Leicestershire's favourite vocal quintet perform beautiful madrigals and duets by, among others, Monteverdi, Orlando Gibbons, Thomas Vautor, Cipriano de Rore and John Wilbye, as well as solo songs and part-songs by Pierre Passereau, Henry Purcell, Charles Villiers Stanford, and Benjamin Britten. With the inimitable Chris Susans on lute and archlute, this promises to be a joyful musical evening to smooth the brow and soothe the soul. Singers: Emma Trounson (soprano), Anna-Jane Davies (soprano), Mark Trounson (counter-tenor), Jeremy Goldsmith (tenor), and David Bean (bass). Join us for a glass of wine during the interval.
