Tallinn Brass Academy will again perform at the St. John's Church concert, which has already become a tradition of the International Trumpet Days. This time, as it is suitable in the year of our world-famous Song and Dance festival, the brass ensemble will focus on the music of Veljo Tormis. The performance will feature brand new settings for the brass ensemble from "Ingerian Evenings" and "Curse Upon Iron," as well as Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures from the Exhibition" and Jean Sibelius's "Finlandia."
The concert will also premiere Valeri Petrov's work for solo trumpet and choir, "Memory," written by the composer in memory of the festival's initiator Aavo Ots and composer Urmas Sisask, and several more choral works by Veljo Tormis can be heard in the performance of the mixed choir K.O.O.R.
