Nearly twenty years after THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA became one of the defining films about work and ambition, Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs return to a very different world.
The first film asked what success was worth. The sequel asks what happens when the industries that shaped your identity begin disappearing beneath your feet.
Print magazines are dying, audiences have moved online and the gatekeepers who once decided what mattered are discovering that influence is a far less permanent thing than they imagined. Miranda finds herself fighting to preserve an institution built for a different era, while Andy unexpectedly finds herself drawn back into the world she once worked so hard to leave behind.
Like the original, the film is interested in female ambition, impossible standards and the price of professional success. This time though, the questions are different. What does relevance look like in a changing world? How do you adapt when the skills that made you successful stop being enough? And what happens when yesterday's disruptors slowly become the establishment?
What could easily have been a nostalgia exercise instead becomes something much more interesting: a film about ageing, legacy and reinvention.
And yes, Miranda Priestly is still terrifying.
FOOD AND DRINK POLICY: FOMO Cinema Lounge Bar opens 1 hour before the first screening of the day and closes at 02:00, serving a wide selection of beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic refreshments including coffee and tea, as well as fresh hot popcorn! Outside food is allowed in the bar but not in the cinema. No alcohol from outside allowed. All guests are invited to arrive early and stay late!
