Tartu University Symphony Orchestra Advent Concert

This dark time of year will be lit up by Tartu University Symphony Orchestra, who will perform L. van Beethoven’s “Coriolan Overture”, Op. 62; W. A. Mozart’s “Horn Concerto No. 3 in E-flat major”; G. Bizet’s “L’Arlésienne Suite No. 2”; and G. Enescu’s “Ballad”. Conductor Taavi Kull will take the audience on a musical journey full of passion, artistry, and breathtaking beauty.
Your soloists for the evening are the young Estonian French horn player Eliise Kannukene and Romanian violinist Vlad Câmpean.
- Eliise Kannukene is an outstanding young French horn player from Ülenurme who obtained her master’s degree from the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts, Helsinki. She has performed with the Helsinki Chamber Orchestra, the Estonian Sinfonietta, the Baltic Sea Philharmonic, and many other Estonian youth orchestras.
- Vlad Câmpean is a Romanian violinist, born in Bucharest, who holds a master’s degree from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He has performed in various chamber music ensembles and has played in orchestras around the world. Since 2017, Vlad has worked with the Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, and since 2022 he has been the concertmaster of Tartu University Symphony Orchestra.
