Wintery Workshop Bites: Cyanotype on glass

TYPA keskus, Tartu

Saturday, 14th February 13.00-15.00

TYPA’s current residency artist Tania Bakum will intoduce a historical photography technique – cyanotype, which was used to make the very first photographycal illustrations in the 19th century. We will be using a light sensitive solution and some objects, negatives and drawings to make a blue print on glass. In her practice, Tania uses glass for cyanotypes instead of the regular paper. Applying cyanotype on glass is quite different from the traditional paper-based process, as it involves the use of gelatin. Yet the results are so striking that exploring this method is well worth the effort. The workshop encourages experimentation and embraces unpredictability as part of the process. Prior experience with analog photography is helpful but not required.

Workshop price is 20/16€*
*Discount applies to students up to age of 26, retired persons, persons with disability.

Reccommended age for participating in the workshop is 10+ years old!
