Curator’s Tour of the Exhibition “The Great Escape 1944” (EST)

The exhibition is dedicated to Estonians who, amid the turmoil of the Second World War, were forced to leave their homeland and begin a new life in Sweden. Based on the Estonian War Refugees Database, the exhibition provides an overview of the number and background of the refugees, as well as their adaptation to new circumstances.
The exhibition has been created in cooperation with the Estonian Institute of Historical Memory, the Association of Estonians in Sweden, the Estonian War Museum, the Museum of Estonians Abroad, Corporation Vironia and the Estonian Central Council in Canada.
The tour will be conducted by Sirle Sööt, Chair of the Association of Estonians in Sweden and Chair of the World Estonian Council.
