Let’s face it. New Year’s even in Japan is shockingly subdues. Many people have Toshikoshi soba, a buckwheat noodle dish that’s to be eaten just before midnight. When the clock strikes midnight, nothing much happens. There’s no champagne-popping, fireworks, no toasts, high fives, no kissing. It’s surprisingly calm.
But at Tokyo Comedy Bar it will be going off!
We have a Pre Countdown Showcase at 7:30 with Tokyo’s best comics and International guests taking the stage. This is s nice way to get some genteel entertainment in earlier in the evening.
At 9 we begin our 3hr marathon countdown show with a mix of pros and up and comers, plenty of breaks for socializing and a lot of drinks. Trains are running late and so are we!
