SIRAT Film Screening - Film Fest Week
Tuesday 24. February at 20:30 - 22:25
FOMO Secret Cinema, Tbilisi
Oliver Laxe | 2025 | Spain/France | 115mins | Spanish language with English subtitles
SIRAT is presented as part of the week-long Music Film Fest at FOMO Secret Cinema, Tbilisi.
SIRAT follows a father and son who travel across the deserts of North Africa searching for a missing daughter. Their journey leads them into a nomadic rave community moving from one remote gathering to another, chasing sound across vast landscapes. What begins as a search narrative slowly transforms into something more elemental and spiritual.
Music drives the film’s pulse. The electronic sets echo through open desert spaces, turning the landscape into a temporary cathedral of bass and light. Laxe contrasts the intimacy of family grief with the collective release of techno culture, asking what music does to the body when it is stripped of walls and city limits. The title itself refers to a narrow bridge between worlds in Islamic tradition, and the film treats music as that bridge.
This is cinema where rhythm replaces dialogue and sound becomes geography.
