"What does a manager actually do?"
"Should there be a contract between us, and what should it include?"
"What happens if, for example, a record label or agent joins the team?"
"How can the collaboration between an artist and a manager work exceptionally well?"

If you are an artist or a manager and seek answers to these and many other important questions, you are welcome to the "Artist and Manager Collaboration" seminar, led by manager Ellie Giles (UK) with extensive experience in the music industry.

Both active managers and their artists are invited to the seminar. We will discuss the importance of close collaboration between artists and managers and the principles of operation. We will address important topics such as collaboration agreements, contracts, task and money distribution, expectations, and daily work.

The seminar's focus is on sharing experiences and challenges so that participants can learn from and be inspired by the experiences of other professionals. We will introduce international standards and best practices for artist and manager collaboration and discuss how to achieve the best possible results and ensure mutual satisfaction. In addition to the collaboration between artists and managers, we will also discuss the changes that the addition of other partners (record labels, publishers, etc.) to the team may bring and what to consider in those agreements.

Separate mini-sessions will also be held exclusively for managers and artists so that all burning questions can be asked, which may not be dared in the presence of one's collaboration partner. Participants will take away practical tips and strategies from the seminar to help them build a strong and mutually beneficial collaboration.

We invite both artists and managers to seize this excellent opportunity to learn from others' experiences, discover new approaches, and create strong and sustainable collaborative relationships!

The seminar will take place at Music Estonia HUB in Telliskivi Creative City (participation via the web is also possible) and will be conducted in English.

Price:
Regular Participant: € 50

Seminar is led by Ellie Giles.

Ellie has been working in the industry for around 15 years now, starting as a promoter at Barfly then onto a successful stint in A&R (finding acts such as Ellie Goulding and White Lies) at Polydor.

Ellie's love for helping acts achieve their full potential, strategy coordination and building a successful bussiness drew her to management of producers and artists.

Ellie’s Roster includes Matty Green - Mix Engineer (U2/Ed Sheeran/Yeasayer), Adam Noble - Producer/Mix Engineer (Nothing But Thieves/Placebo), Bill Ryder - Jones (artist/producer) alongside two developmental acts.

Seminar is supported by Cultural Endowment of Estonia.
