SLEUTH
psychological thriller

performance is in Estonian

A foggy autumn evening in an old English manor house. A famous mystery writer invites his spouse’s young lover to visit. The host, who is fascinated with playing games, and loves exaggerated theatricality, convinces the guest to stage a robbery. The lover is made unwittingly to steal the writer’s wife’s jewelry. This sets off a chain of events that lead to unpredictable consequences.

The production is based on the play, “Sleuth,” by the English writer Anthony Shaffer. Two feature films have been made based on this play. Joseph L. Mankiewicz directed Sleuth (1972) with British theater and movie star Laurence Olivier as the lead and featuring Michael Caine as the young lover. In 2007, Kenneth Branagh’s version of the twisted duo starred Michael Caine (cast as the writer) and the handsome Jude Law.

Vahur and Britt Urbla Keller, who have made a number of exciting productions, are presenting this genius play at KellerTheatre.
