An interactive online conversation
Over the past months, I have been closely exploring the topic of institutional betrayal through research, counselling practice and reflection. One thing has fascinated me in particular: not only the mechanisms through which institutions harm people, but also the mechanisms through which people heal.
Together, we will explore questions such as:
Why does institutional betrayal so often undermine our trust in ourselves? What helps restore that trust?
Why are silence, ambiguity and invisibility so psychologically powerful? Why do different people respond to them so differently?
What helps people stay grounded when trust has been damaged?
What do we know about the mechanics of healing?
Who might find it useful?Therapists and helping professionals
Safeguarding practitioners
Community leaders and volunteers
Activists
Anyone interested in understanding institutional betrayal and recovery
This is not a therapy group and not a lecture. It is an interactive conversation where we think together, ask questions, and reflect on what current knowledge, lived experience, and professional practice can teach us.
