With the advances in Endodontics, the chance of preserving non-vital teeth is not challenged by shaping or cleaning efficiency but predominantly by the capacity to restore the damaged structure and prevent it from further disintegration and failure.
The reconstruction of ETT consists of two phases.
1. Endodontic: Immediate restoration of the tooth core and build-up performed by endodontist (or the one performing root canal treatment)
2. Prosthodontics: The final reconstruction, may it be overlay or crown, that obeys the biomechanic principles of tooth preparation and aiming to create the minimum possible marginal gap.
The 25 years of cooperation between endodontist and prosthodontist has created a unique cohort of longitudinally observed patients. Procedure evolves over time in both Endodontics and Prosthodontics phase based on current scientific evidence challenged by the clinical observation.
Both steps will be presented by their authors with the latest updates and large clinical documentation.
