On the night before Halloween, step into an evening of dark literature, supernatural tales and live piano.
Nell will recite a selection of eerie texts beginning with Dracula, followed by short ghost stories and frightening tales from different parts of the world, stories of strange encounters, restless spirits, dark folklore and things that refuse to stay buried.
Every reading will be accompanied live by Arashk Azizi on piano, combining original compositions with music connected to the macabre, the supernatural and the darker corners of the classical repertoire. The programme will draw on works and themes associated with composers such as Saint-Saëns, Liszt, Schubert and Stravinsky, including echoes of Danse macabre and other music shaped by death, mystery, the devil and the uncanny.
The event takes place on 30 October, the night before Halloween.
And although Halloween technically begins the following day, there is no reason to wait: costumes are strongly encouraged.
Come for Dracula, stay for the ghosts, and spend an evening where literature and music meet in the dark.
