Rafi Bastos Comfort Zone in Madrid (in English)

Monday 8. June at 20:45 - 22:30

Teatro Infanta Isabel, Madrid

Rafi Bastos is a 6’7” Brazilian comedian with an accent like Dracula and a rapidly growing social media presence through his English stand-up clips. Many of his viral performances come from nightly sets at the prestigious Comedy Cellar in New York.

In Brazil, Rafi is a trailblazer who helped pioneer American-style stand-up comedy. During his 17-year career in comedy and acting before moving to the United States, he broke numerous records and was featured on The Joe Rogan Experience. He also opened one of South America’s largest comedy clubs while consistently challenging Brazil’s restrictive free speech laws.

Rafi’s content — including stand-up performances, sketches, interviews, and music videos — has surpassed 370 million views on YouTube alone. In 2011, The New York Times named him the Most Influential Man on Twitter. He later won a Shorty Award for Best Comedian.

Performing in both English and Portuguese, Rafi became the first Brazilian comedian to regularly perform at world-renowned clubs such as Comedy Cellar, Laugh Factory, and The Hollywood Improv. He also headlined Just For Laughs in Montreal.

Rafi has three Netflix comedy specials — A Arte do Insulto, Péssima Influência, and Ultimato. He has starred in films, hosted television shows, and co-founded Comedians, the largest comedy club in South America. Now based in the U.S., he continues pushing boundaries with a fresh global perspective.
