Launched in 2009, PREMIERE is an international program for a choreographic debut, offering a professional platform for young choreographers to introduce their artistic vision at their very first movement based dance performance.
PREMIERE´25 will present Maria Solei Järvet and KOOSSEIS with their debut performances.

Maria Solei Järvet “STRATA”
The body as a layered journey

STRATA is the layered structure of our essence, where every layer carries the weight of experience, holding the past while opening space for the new. It is about movement—how the body, fragile yet steady, navigates the space between memory and transformation.

This performance invites us to contemplate the body not only as a physical form but as a layered archive—a space where personal and collective experiences are stored and where change is constant. It does not offer answers but instead opens a space for reflection: What lies beneath the visible? What do we carry in our silent layers, and what do we show to the world?

Maria Solei Järvet sees dance as an opportunity for expression, through which to talk to people about important topics. “At the moment, I am focusing on the phenomenon of aging and the passage of time in my work, which is inspired by a deeper introspection towards the dancer’s life, age and career,” explains the young choreographer. Maria Solei Järvet graduated from the Copenhagen School of Contemporary Dance in 2023, majoring in dance. At the moment, she works as a freelancer both in Estonia and abroad, cooperating with various international groups and institutions.

KOOSSEIS “Dune date”

In the midst of a vast golden-red desert expanse, everything once known and familiar has been left behind. Together, they navigate the empty, unpredictable expanse in search of a path—to find something new and better, or at least to return to the familiar. The boundless sea of sand sways beneath their feet, and the ceaseless song of the sand grains hums in their ears. Thirsting anticipation becomes unbearable. The moment constrains. The mocking clock torments. A glance decides the captain. The weary body is dry and stiff, yet in the desert, anything goes. On the border of reality and imagination, a group of five steers through the desert’s open sea until…

KOOSSEIS is a creative collective of five young dance artists: Eveli Ojasaar, Roosmarii Sarapuu, Eva Metspalu, Elina Ojasaar, and Mariann Onkel. The group explores themes such as the significance of role distribution, the quest for truth between leadership and shared responsibility, and achieving individual and collective potential through co-creation. KOOSSEIS’s work is driven by an atmosphere inspired by magical realism, physical character creation, and a shared sense of absurdity. Their collaborative works have previously been presented at the Made in Estonia Marathon short-form festival (2023, 2024), Eveli Ojasaar’s bachelor’s degree final production “Vaibaalune vandenõu” (“Conspiracy Beneath the Carpet,” 2024), and the dance film exhibition “kvintessents” (“Quintessence”) as part of the Aparaaditehas Open Culture Platform (2023). Three members of the group have graduated from Tallinn University’s Baltic Film, Media, and Arts School’s choreography program, while two are continuing their studies.
