Sunday 21st July Afternoon session 13:00-15:00

Join us for an enchanting day of storytelling and hands-on creativity in the beautiful Kilsture Forest! This event is designed for children aged 5 to 11 and is a fantastic opportunity for them to connect with nature, learn new skills, and immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Scottish mythology.

Our experienced Forest School practitioners, Toni and Pauline, will guide the children through a magical journey of storytelling and mythology. With their extensive backgrounds in wildlife and conservation, Toni and Pauline are passionate about outdoor learning and enjoy helping young people develop a deeper connection with the natural world.

Activities Include:

Woodworking and Art: Children will use tools to create circular wooden discs and decorate them, sparking their creativity and increase their fine motor skills.

Story Creation: Using their decorated discs, children will craft their own stories, enhancing their imagination and communication skills.

Campfire Tales: Gather around a campfire to listen to Toni and Pauline as they share captivating tales of Scottish mythology, inspired by the natural surroundings of Kilsture Forest.

Traditional Scottish Snack: Learn to make Bannock, a traditional Scottish campfire snack, and enjoy it fresh off the fire.

Scots Language Learning: Test your knowledge of Scots words and pick up new vocabulary in a fun and engaging way.

Parents and Guardians don't miss out on all of the fun and join in! However, children can be left unaccompanied.

This Event is run in partnership with D&G Woodlands (using funds from The National Lottery Heritage Fund) and the Kilsture Forest Community Group (KFCG).
