Play Full Theatre is returning to Civic House on the 18th November for a curated night of new works written, directed, and performed by Scotland-based artists. Come and be a part of the creative process as we celebrate the talents of emerging artists. 1919, and the world is still reeling from one of the bloodiest wars ever seen. For Mhairi and Maude, grieving the one they lost proves a little more complicated. How can they move forward when the dead can walk?

KITTEN by Katrina Cobain

After the diagnosis of terminal cancer in her young son, a butch lesbian turns to the road, escaping her thoughts and responsibilities through her long-distance lorry driving job. Will she finally emerge from the safety of her drivers cab, and answer the calls of her wife to face reality?

BOARDING GATE by Linton Zhang

11-year-old Avery enters an elite boarding school in 2011. Her rebellious journey through homesickness and queer awakening reveals how these schools' privileged isolation leaves future leaders disconnected from the society they'll serve.

March 1996: the Hyakutake Comet is lighting up the night sky, but while Mel is intent on getting a glimpse of the astronomical event, her sister Laurie has news that may finally bring her back down to Earth.

HEAT SNAP by Wren Brian

On a scorching day, an artist is sketching a prisoner at sentencing. Across the city a mason is carving a gravestone for an exhibition. An afternoon walk leads the artist to the mason’s door. Complete strangers who are clearly intertwined by…something. Based on the eerie short story “August Heat”.

We've tiered our ticket prices to make this event as accessible as possible. If you can afford to pay more than the minimum then this would make a huge difference and help us cover costs of the event and venue hire. Play Full Theatre was set up by a collective of theatre makers to produce fun, collaborative, and engaging scratch nights showcasing work created through collaborations between emerging theatre artists based in Scotland. It is run entirely by volunteers. Since it was set up in late 2022, Play Full scratch nights have featured the talents of over 70 emerging writers, directors, dramaturgs and actors.
