Pseudoscientific ideas and their adaptations

On Instagram, they suggest diagnosing based on fingerprints, solving problems with a leaky intestine, believing in the all-powerful detox and magical biodegradable supplements. Science popularizer Alexander Panchin will talk about cunning ideas and methodologies that only pretend to be scientific but turn out to be complete nonsense (and also profitable business).

What is the similarity between a biological virus and a pseudoscientific theory? Why do even the most absurd ideas sometimes captivate the minds of many people? What makes others believe in all sorts of nonsense? And how can we protect ourselves from it? Come to the "fight against obscurantism session" and find out.

This will be discussed by candidate of biological sciences and science popularizer Alexander Panchin in a lecture that will take place in Almaty on July 7 at 8:00 pm in the Smart Point, located at Baizakov str., 280.
