A LAND WITHIN by Ioannis Mandafounis is a site-specific promenade performance that invites spectators to wander through a series of imagined worlds. Each location has its own identity, atmosphere, function and vitality that induces a distinct quality in the dance. As the audience moves freely between the locations they travel through the personal emotions and states of each performer. The performance is an invitation to explore a mosaic of stories that fan out the many facets of what it means to be human based on the philosopher Maxime Rovere›s thoughts on conflict and forgiveness.

 The Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company is supported by the state capital Dresden and the Free State of Saxony as well as the city of Frankfurt am Main and the state of Hesse. Company-in-Residence at HELLERAU – European Center for the Arts in Dresden and at Bockenheimer Depot in Frankfurt am Main.
