THERE SEEM TO BE SOME REfluxIONS HAPPENING HERE, Ilias Chatzigeorgiou
On the occasion of the opening of the Swiss House, Ilias Chatzigeorgiou reunites with the Cypher dancers in a performance conceived as a capsule inspired by the concept of Mirror, created by Euripides Laskaridis. Within the closed space of the cypher, bodies gather, observe, and reflect one another, creating a living image of encounter. The performance unfolds like a walk-through encounter with strange people, moving through awkward moments that guarantee our very existence. Three different kinds of cypher are happening, inspired by everyday life and life in the workspace, twisting and extending reality. Contradictions coexist: the dark is funny and poetic, while the funny can suddenly become dangerous and scary. Pain may appear as a gift, tenderness as a mighty lethal weapon. Things are exactly as they are now. Do you see? Do you see the reflection of your world through what I see, through what we see together? Perhaps it is simply another day in the world, a world focusing on what we are capable of or what we are already doing to each other.
