I AM DYNAMITE. FREEST MAN IN THE WORLD, Andi Xhuma
FLUX Laboratory invites artist Andi Xhuma to present his creation, I AM DYNAMITE. FREEST MAN IN THE WORLD. The point of departure is the question: what would happen if our most absurd desires were to acquire a body? Through a mirrored image of the present, inspired by the gaze of John Giorno and Hugo Ball, the performance by Andi Xhuma explores Dada aesthetics as a political and existential act. I am Dynamite searches for the rupture where the body becomes poetry and explosion. The performance is approached as a field of conflict between opposing yet interdependent binaries that run through the history of the body and the image. Freedom and castration coexist as political and biological realities: the body desires, while at the same time it is disciplined. Blood and soil refer to the primordial relationship between life and death, sacrifice and origin- a body that stands on the ground yet carries the traces of historical violence. Bread and circuses return as a timeless metaphor of social control, where survival and spectacle replace lived experience and the path toward self and freedom. Dada collage functions not only as an aesthetic choice but as a historical continuation of resistance to the rationalism that gave rise to war. Hugo Ball, and later John Giorno, through poetry and voice, disrupted linear narrative. Here, the body assumes that role. Through a dialogue between musicality , poetry and boxing, rhythm organizes violence and transforms it into form and a language of communication.
