PERFORMANCE

ANADISIS, Stavros-Alexandros Ikbal

FLUX Laboratory invites artist Stavros-Alexandros Ikbal to present his creation ANADISIS. Movement emerges from silence. A figure awakens, like a sculpture coming to life. Speech turns into rhythm, rhythm transforms into steps, and the body resonates with poetry. Between shifting spaces, the procession moves through the landscape, drawing the gaze and the ear. Music hovers—sometimes still, sometimes wandering—marking the passage from prose to poetry, from simple motion to ecstasy. In the end, shapes and sounds imprint themselves in memory, like the echo of a hymn that never fades. The performance is part of the Danceology research project, launched by FLUX Laboratory in collaboration with the Swiss School of Archaeology in Greece (ESAG) and researcher Dr Sophie Bocksberger.

Three bodies move between memory and the city’s ground, right where the dawn light meets the sacred rock. Turning listening into an embodied experience, movement becomes a quiet excavation into the soil, unearthing myths suspended in time. Upon the Athenian landscape, bodies converse with the materials of the earth, while the mirror reflects the unseen. The narrative does not unfold through words, but diffuses through imagery, sound, and gesture.

Along this path, every touch and every step leave behind their own traces — indelible marks etched into space, waiting to transform. These traces become the living proof of a fleeting presence, inviting the audience to encounter the city not merely as a spectacle, but as a living palimpsest where myth, the body, and contemporary art converge once again.
