Save the Date
Join us for a free all-day summit and help us reshape and nuance the story of Africa.
DID YOU KNOW THAT AFRICA...
-
Has 5 of the 10 fastest-growing economies in the world as of 2024?
Including Niger, Senegal, and Rwanda. -
Has seen a 70% increase in tech hubs over the past five years,
with cities like Lagos, Nairobi, and Cape Town leading Africa's digital transformation. -
Is home to the world’s youngest population, with nearly 60% under the age of 25?
This means Africa has enormous potential for continued positive development!
Chances are, like many of us, you haven’t heard these facts and figures before.
WHY?
Because the good stories are rarely told.
We’re often exposed to an incomplete picture of this vast continent — a picture that mostly highlights conflict, war, famine, and the devastating consequences of climate change.
Of course, there is truth in that.
BUT AFRICA IS SO MUCH MORE!
As journalists, editors, and NGOs, we have the power — and the responsibility — to retell and update the narrative of Africa.
To contribute to a more nuanced and complete story of the continent.
BECAUSE AFRICA IS SO MUCH MORE THAN DISASTERS...
…And that’s a powerful and important story.
Because when we nuance the narrative, it’s not only Africa that benefits — we all do.
That’s why the Constructive Institute, in collaboration with 2030Beyond, is proud to present:
THE NEW NARRATIVES OF AFRICA SUMMIT
The New Narratives of Africa Summit is a full-day event, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and 2030Beyond, and inspired by Africa No Filter and a group of top leaders from major African media.
We’re bringing together leading editors, journalists, and media thinkers from Africa and Denmark in Copenhagen to explore new ways of telling Africa’s stories.
Stories that move beyond stereotypes and reflect the continent’s complexity, diversity, and untold potential.
We hope you’ll join us.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops, participants will work together to:
- Challenge outdated narratives
- Amplify underrepresented voices
- Promote journalism that informs, inspires, and engages
