RESPONDING TO P*RN
Tuesday 19. May 2026 at 10:00 - 16:00
Servant’s Church - Hillcrest Chapel, Norwich
We’re delighted to partner with Naked Truth Project for a day of training designed specifically for church leaders and those involved in pastoral ministry.
Pornography has become one of the most significant discipleship and pastoral challenges facing the Church today. It’s shaping lives, relationships, and expectations in ways many of us are only beginning to understand. Behind the statistics are real people — men and women battling cycles of shame and secrecy, spouses experiencing deep betrayal and hurt, and young people forming their ideas about sex and relationships through the lens of pornography.
As leaders, we’re called to bring truth, grace, and hope into every area of life — yet many of us feel under-equipped to respond well to this issue. How can we address it biblically and pastorally? How can we support those who are struggling or hurting? And how can we help our churches talk about sex and discipleship with honesty and hope, rather than fear and shame?
This one-day training will provide both theological grounding and practical tools to help you lead wisely in this sensitive and vital area. Through a mix of teaching, reflection, and discussion, we’ll explore:
Understanding the Landscape
An overview of pornography’s prevalence and influence — including its effects on mental health, relationships, spirituality, and youth culture — and why it matters deeply for our pastoral and missional work.
A Biblical and Theological Response
How Scripture speaks to temptation, shame, identity, and freedom, and how the gospel offers a better story about sex and relationships — one that restores dignity and invites transformation.
Pastoral and Practical Care
How to walk with those affected by pornography — whether individuals, couples, or families. We’ll explore trauma-informed approaches, compassionate responses to disclosure, and how to foster safe, accountable, grace-filled church communities.
Ministry, Mission, and Hope
How engaging with this issue can open new doors for gospel witness and cultural transformation. We’ll share stories of redemption and consider how the Church can model honesty, restoration, and love in a world distorted by counterfeit intimacy.
This will be a day of honest conversation, solid teaching, and practical equipping — giving church leaders the confidence to engage with this topic thoughtfully and redemptively.
Whether you’re a pastor, elder, youth worker, or simply someone who wants to care well for others, we invite you to join us as we seek to understand, respond, and bring hope.
