We are delighted to bring our series of “My Route to CFO - NOVA in conversation with….” Virtual Events ⭐️

We will be interviewing brilliant female Finance Leaders about their path to the No 1 role in finance. Their journey, their challenges, their highs. There is no one route to the top!

Sharing experiences can then help each of us for our own thoughts along our career.

On this event, we will be speaking to Ann Wong

Raakhi Patel is a highly accomplished Fractional CFO, CIMA-qualified, with a deep specialism in driving strategic transformation for start-ups, not-for-profits, and charities. Raakhi is an expert in implementing optimal operating models, establishing robust governance, and creating compliance structures that empower organisations to achieve their strategic vision.

Ann Wong’s route to becoming a CFO wasn’t mapped out in advance. Trained as a chartered accountant at KPMG, she was drawn early on to fast-moving environments where things were being built, scaled or rethought. Over nearly two decades, her career has taken her across the UK, China and Canada, spanning global organisations such as KPMG and NBCUniversal as well as early-stage startups. At NBCUniversal, she helped build the China finance and operations function and supported the rapid growth of a new Consumer Products division that scaled to 200 people across EMEA, APAC and LATAM in just two years.

Her first CFO role came at DryGro, an agri-food tech start-up focused on creating a more sustainable food system. Operating through COVID and across international teams, the role sharpened her focus on clarity, resilience and people. She later became CFO of ProtonDx, a biotech scale-up developing fast, affordable diagnostics at the point of need, where she worked across fundraising, financial controls, R&D and IP strategy.

Ann is now CFO of Measurable Energy, where she has spent the past six months supporting the growth of a founder-led hardware and software business tackling energy waste in commercial buildings. She enjoys bringing structure to complexity and using clear financial insight to support better decisions, particularly in early-stage businesses. Above all, she values trust, integrity and accountability, and is proud of the teams she’s built and the cultures she’s helped shape along the way.

We look forward hearing to Ann's story!
