Multicultural family morning: India

Maailma Lapsed’s multicultural family event takes us to India this time. In a child-friendly and playful way, we will discover the customs, culture and everyday life of children in India.

Throughout the family morning, children can explore what life looks like in another country through a variety of activities – what people speak, eat and listen to, and what kinds of stories, customs and symbols are part of Indian culture.

Learning about other cultures helps children develop curiosity about the world, openness towards differences, and an understanding that people may live in different ways while still having many things in common. At the same time, the event is a lovely opportunity for families to spend time together and meet other families living in Tallinn and the surrounding areas.

🌍 What will we do together?

• find India on the globe and discover what its flag looks like;

• explore what life is like for children in India through stories, pictures and objects;

• get to know Indian music and dance;

• taste something typically Indian;

• leave plenty of time for free play and for families to meet and chat with one another.

The activities are relaxed, playful and flexible. The guided programme will take place approximately from 11:00 to 12:00, while the rest of the time children can move between different activities and choose what interests them most.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who is the event for?

Both Estonian and international families with children are very welcome.

The idea behind the event is to discover the world together while also creating natural opportunities for families from different backgrounds to meet. Children can play and take part in activities together, while parents have the opportunity to get to know one another.

The event will take place in both Estonian and English.
